FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, PORT RICHEY, FLORIDA
Is anything too wonderful for the LORD?” (Genesis 18:14.)
Of course not! As Presbyterians we believe that God’s power is absolute. God’s power of love defeats even illness and death in the resurrection of Jesus Christ! Join us for “A Spiritual Healing Service” as we pray for health and healing among us, inviting the Holy Spirit to bring God’s power and blessing to our lives.
We hold a Healing Service on the third Wednesday of every month. This one-hour service begins at 7:00 PM and includes music, prayer, a sermon, and a opportunity for the laying on of hands and the anointing with oil. All are welcome!
Our healing ministry also includes prayer on Sunday mornings during the 10:00 AM service, pastoral counseling, and referrals to community resources such as chiropractic, tai chi, and massage therapy.
SPIRITUAL HEALING SERVICE
Nearly eight years ago I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Following surgery and radiation therapy, I returned to my oncologist every six months for follow-up testing. While the test for cancer came back normal, the test for the virus that causes the cancer always came back abnormal to some degree. It was very stressful and upsetting.
Following my visit earlier in the year, I began participating in the monthly Spiritual Healing Services conducted by Rev. Dr. Guild. I believe in the power of prayer and felt a special warmth and sense of peace during each service. My last visit to the oncologist was August 26, 2014. I awaited the usual call from the physician’s office telling me that there was an abnormality in my test and I would have to return in six months. Instead, I received a card in the mail, which only occurs when all tests are normal! I hastily opened the card and read exactly that. All my tests were normal; I was discharged from the oncologist’s care and could now see my regular physician once a year!
I know in my heart that prayer and the Spiritual Healing Services are responsible for this blessing. I thank God each day for my good health, and I will continue to attend the Spiritual Healing Services. My prayer now is that more people will attend these Services and receive the Holy Spirit, as did I.
